The past month has been is a little hectic and I wanted to offer an explanation. Since I've gotten back from my California trip, I have been focused on saving up money and planning for Iceland. I got a second job and have been working many 12 hour days to pay for it all. Then I had to say goodbye to my Macbook when the battery started to expand. I turned it over to the Apple Store and spent a lot of money on a new one (I'm trying out a PC now), which set me back a bit.
So now it looks like I'll be picking up more hours, which means even less blogging/photographing time. Of course, I'm still shooting with Trends and Tolstoy every week so if you miss me, don't to forget to see what's going on over there. Now that it's warm, I'm really excited about some of the edgier shoots we've been able to do.
It's safe to say my internet presence has been a bit lackluster the past two months, as I've been consistently tweeting about broken computers, waitressing, and late night bus rides. But I'm working on it!
I'll be leaving for Iceland one month from tomorrow and there's a lot to do before then. Our road trip itinerary is coming along and paychecks are rolling in. We're sorting everything out piece by piece.
A Little About Iceland
It's a road trip! We're renting a car and braving the Ring Road, the highway the circles the entire island in a Suzuki 4x4. We'll be there for about 11 days and are determined to see every region of Iceland. For those wondering, Iceland's land area is a little bit larger than the state of Maine, so driving around the whole thing in a handful of days is very do-able. The hard part will be how long it will take us to get anywhere if we keep stopping to gawk at the landscape.
For the most part, this trip is about driving and hiking and photographing, but it is sort of a big graduation present to ourselves so we might have splurged a little bit. We've booked ourselves for.....(drumroll)...a dog sledding tour!
(Yes, Cuba Gooding Jr. was my inspiration for this trip.)
So that's it! I'll be planning the trip all this month and working to pay for it. I can't wait to get back out there.
